The Torah - the arborvitae for everyone

The symbol of the Menorah connects lights and arborvitae – the tree of life. This is coherent with the conception of the Torah as a tree of the life. (Proverbs 3.18, Pirkei Avos 6.7).

Also the theory of the wise, which is, according to religious conceptions, embodied in the Torah also is compared with the tree of life  (Pr. Sol. 13.14).

So the symbol of the Menorah can express more than the bare affiliation in Judaism. Thus the Menorah becomes (unlike the light of the godless, Sol. 13.9) a light and arborvitae; a symbol of the Torah, the symbol for the light of the righteous, which won't go out.
